Alexandre de Watteu,
Name: Alexandre Friedrich Gairovald Lamperouge-de Watteu
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Job Class: Bard
Nationality: Albertan
Physical Attributes: Brown-haired and blue-eyed a common trait of the de Watteu linage. His build is just fit for his job, not to muscular or too lanky; but able to be lithe and flexible. He is blessed with a soft-tanned look because of growing up in Alberta most of his life. Standing about 5'10", he is rather tall than anyone else in the group.
His eyes are rather half-hooded, always has this sleepy/bored look. Face always on a blank, but never to fail to flash a soft smile when needed. Alex is no doubt, attractive. Accessories that adorn his face are several piercings on his ear and brow.
He wears the typical bard ensemble, though, without the cape. With minor alterations, his pants are more fitted and the coat conceals his neck. His boots are slightly heeled giving him extra leverage.
Personality: Soft-spoken and rather cunning, that's Alex's best description. Quiet and brooding, sometimes. Can be mistaken for an ice-cold person, but he really isn't (can be, but shows this rarely). In reality, Alex is a shy person; and probably in a few minutes he could be your new friend, depending how you treat him. Call him free-spirited if you will. He is also surprisingly bubbly and optimistic.
Alexandre is a helpful person to people in need. He never fails to make anyone smile or least a grin. He can be temperamental and sensitive on things, especially on very touchy subjects. But he doesn't show his anger and vents it on other people, instead he vents his anger in song.
A major flaw of his is that he's always neutral. He can't decide on which side to chose, whether it be do or die. Though, he's trying his best to change for the better.
Strengths:
- Tactic
- Dexterous
- Rather charismatic
Weaknesses:
- Indecisive Nature
- Holds grudges
- Too carefree
- Agoraphobic
- Easily distracted
History:
Alex is the son of Siegfried de Watteu, a mastersmith and Ekaterina "Katya" Lamperouge, a crusader and a woman of noble descent. Ekaterina was disowned by her family because of her love for Siegfried, who was a commoner. Previously, Ekaterina was betrothed to Gavril Desjardin, a creator. Because, a rule of the Desjardin and Lamperouge house was they should only wed people of noble descent. Ekaterina hated that rule; her heart yearns only for Siegfried. On Gavril and Ekaterina’s wedding day, they found out that the woman eloped with the mastersmith. Rage filled Lord Lamperouge’s conscience, and disowned his own daughter and her eventual brood.
On the third year of their marriage, Alexandre Friedrich Giarovlad (blame Ekaterina's obsession with names), or Alex for short was born. The couple raised their son in the port city of Alberta, since Siegfried’s concentration of trade was Amatsu; he is close to port whenever he needs to go there. Alex did not spend much time with his father, but he got close with his mother. Ekaterina taught the boy how to play the piano at the tender age of three. Katya would tell her son that she wished that she had followed her own path, instead of following her family’s wants. Her only advice she had given him was to follow his own path.
When Siegfried was at home, he would talk to the boy about trade and commerce, economics and stocks. Of course, the boy was confused about what his father was talking about. The man would only laugh at his son’s reaction; it’s surprisingly cute, he would say. The mastersmith taught his son to learn how to play the guitar and read notes. Siegfried confessed that he was supposed to take the path of a bard; but, because of financial difficulties when he was young, he had to take the path of a blacksmith. As the lessons progressed, he fell in love with music and it became his sole passion.
At the age of seven, Alex was enrolled in the Midgard academy. He had the skills to become a merchant like his father before him. But he disregarded the Academy’s recommendation and followed his heart that is to be an archer and then a bard. During the course of his training in Payon, he fumbled with the bow. He was a mess, literally. But soon, he was getting the hang of it.
For quite sometime, he had never interacted with anyone else from his family except for his parents. Until his aunt Iris came, along with his cousins, Elianna and Shara. One was a dancer, while the other one was on the path to be a huntress. He never got along with them, since they tease and treat him like a toy. Elianna and Shara also treat him as their own little brother, disregarding the fact he was disowned.
He was twelve when he became a full-pledged archer. He traveled far and wide to hone his abilities. Of course, he had his downsides as well during his adventures. Countless near death experiences, too. He was fortunate that today he is alive and well. His mother almost died when he told what happened to him. Ekaterina didn’t want Alex to go anywhere for quite sometime because of what he told her. But Alex insisted, so he went and continued his journey. Alex never failed to visit his parents as well as sing for them back in Alberta.
When he was seventeen, he went to Lutie to become a bard. The test given to him was to write his own song and perform it. The song didn’t come to him that fast; he wasted a lot of time, pen and paper just to write down a song along with the melody and chords. There wasn’t really much of inspiration in Lutie, except for the snow and harsh weather.
The song came to him one late evening, when he saw a bird and just wrote about aspiration and hope.
He passed the test and after learning the ropes, he was turned into a bard when he was nineteen. That year as well, he trained several archers who are aspiring to be bards like him. He and his cousins see each other from time to time, especially Elianna since he accompanies her because of her occupation. He doesn’t mind it after all, it was familial love.
====
Two years, he barely spoke to his cousins... but he knew they were in good health and being. His mother, Ekaterina, died of pneumonia while he was studying in Lutie. He recieved the letter too late, but he still made in time for the funeral. It was small but very warming gathering, composing of only select friends and family members saying their eulogies and final goodbyes to the crusader as she entered the gates of heaven.
Of course, the youth mourned for his mother who taught him everything. To vent out his anger and sadness, he spent the days wandering from town to town to sing his little heart out and he did (he earned several fanbases too). Alexandre still goes back to Lutie from time to time to teach archers to be bards, but he really doesn't like to be confined in a place... he loved to travel. So he's still wandering around and around...
And around making his fans swoon whenever he sings.
